The special figured koa HPL 6-string Martin dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar was crafted to produce a powerful, rich sound that is perfect for aspiring singer-songwriters, as well as professional touring and studio musicians. The top, back and sides are constructed using Martins famous FSC-certified HPL with a koa pattern, and for added tone and volume, the Sitka spruce top is articulately braced with 5/16" scalloped X-bracing. The special dreadnought has a powerful, rich tone, with all the sustain you need.

The mortise-and-tenon neck joint ensures solid construction of the guitar, with optimal resonant tone, while eliminating drop-off in the finer dynamics. The high-performance neck shape provides comfort and dexterity when performing intricate movements and progressions along the black Richlite fretboard. This special X Series dreadnought comes equipped with Fishman MX electronics featuring a soundhole-mounted preamp with rotary controls for Volume and Tone. The controls are mounted conveniently under the soundhole, so all you have to do is plug in and play.
